If you have such a dynamic business that it demands your travel to different points in the world, you should be ready for anything, anytime, anywhere.

A business trip is not for the weak stomached…literally. On one hand, expect to be pampered on your train, bus or plane trip to your destination but on the other hand, also expect your body to not be as comfortable despite all efforts. Bring your own first aid kit; this should contain meds for motion sickness, diarrhoea and other such conditions. You may be on your way to a first class hotel but after hours of travel, your body may not react as well as you would expect.

Expect to be introduced to the culture. These ‘traditions’ and offers may seem weird and at rare times, inappropriate but one has to be ready to either accept or reject them with the necessary humility and deference.

Expect to be seen as the ‘personification’ of the company you represent. This means that you must not do anything to put your business into any compromising situation or into anything that may mar its reputation. You must know all there is to know about the company you represent as well as the business venture you would like to introduce.
